You can try to winter over strawberries in a greenhouse or covered with straw in early winter. It is best to reorder new plants every year because you will get a better production.
Seascape Day Neutral
Highly succcessful for Northeastern growers for summer and fall production. Seascape will flower and fruit all season. The fruit is large, prolific and have good flavor when picked ripe from the plant. Grows best in zones 4-9. We ordered Seascape in 2015.
Albion Day Neutral
We are trying a new variety this year in addition to the seascape. Albion produce conical shaped berries with excellent flavor. Compared to seascape, albion bears larger and slightly firmer fruit, and is more disease resistant. Grows best in zones 4-7.
We bulk order bare root strawberry plants each year. Ordering info is sent out to the Jackson Gardens Produce email list in December.
